About Shamrock
We specialize in Celtic music, offering a wide range of melodies and songs from Ireland, Scotland, Brittany, and other parts of the world. Our repertoire includes traditional pieces as well as contemporary compositions, including original works.
With 15 years of experience, we have had the honor of performing at venues such as the Lunario at the Auditorio Nacional, the Teatro de la Ciudad Esperanza Iris, Casa del Lago, the Zócalo in Mexico City, and Foro del Tejedor, among others.
We have also participated in cultural events such as the International Folklore Festival, the Feria de las Culturas Amigas, La Fête de la Musique, the Eurojazz Festival, and the International Celtic Music Festival in Mexico.
Throughout our journey, we have built meaningful relationships that continue to support and strengthen our work. One of the most significant is our ongoing collaboration with the Embassy of Ireland in Mexico, where we have participated in various events for the diplomatic community and in activities that strengthen the cultural ties between Ireland and Mexico since 2016.
Musicians
At Shamrock, we are passionate about Celtic music. We have dedicated our musical journey to specializing in this genre and sharing it with our audiences for more than 15 years.
Jorge López has specialized in fiddle playing for the past 15 years, a style of violin playing rooted in the traditions of Celtic music. His expertise on the instrument is reflected in his use of the genre’s distinctive techniques and ornamentation. He also plays the bodhrán, a traditional Irish frame drum that is a defining instrument of Celtic music around the world.
Valentina Rascón is the ensemble’s lead vocalist, standing out not only for the tone of her voice, but also for the distinctive inflections that characterize this genre. She is also an accordionist, specializing in piano accordion, which adds a distinctive tonal quality to Shamrock’s sound.
Eleazar Aranda is a multi-instrumentalist musician.
He plays flute and whistles, as well as Scottish bagpipes and smallpipes. He is also a guitarist, with a particular focus on combining different tunings such as Drop D and DADGAD. This versatility makes Eleazar one of the few musicians in Mexico specializing in this genre.
Esteban Arroyo is a guitarist and banjo player who has developed a versatile career, specializing in genres such as bluegrass and country music. He has refined his sound through experiences with renowned figures such as Béla Fleck, and his approach, combined with Celtic music, brings a fresh sense of dynamism and tonal depth to Shamrock’s sound.
